Pagoda Shaoxing Cooking Wine 750ml Pagoda branded Shaoxing Cooking Wine is considered by chefs as the standard Chinese cooking rice wine for decades. This product is available in a 750ml bottle and is made of a blend of rice, wheat, water, salt and caramel using a fermentation technique. The Chinese traditionally used Shaoxing rice wine as a cooking wine as well as a beverage.

General Usage
Marinades : Use Shaoxing wine to tenderize meats and add depth of flavor. Combine with soy sauce, garlic, and ginger for a classic marinade.
Stir-Fries : Add a splash to stir-fries for a rich, complex flavor. It pairs well with soy sauce and oyster sauce.
Braised Dishes : Incorporate into braised dishes like red-braised pork belly to enhance the savory taste.
Soups and Stews : Add to soups and stews to enrich the broth and balance flavors.
Recipes
1. Red-Braised Pork Belly
Ingredients :
1 kg pork belly, cut into chunks
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
¼ cup Pagoda Shaoxing Cooking Wine
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
1 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch ginger, sliced
2 cups water
Instructions :
Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat. Add pork belly and brown on all sides.
Add Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, sugar, star anise, cinnamon stick, garlic, and ginger. Stir to combine.
Pour in water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1-1.5 hours until the pork is tender and the sauce is thickened .
2. Chinese-Style Steamed Fish
Ingredients :
1 whole fish (such as sea bass or tilapia), cleaned and scaled
2 tablespoons Pagoda Shaoxing Cooking Wine
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch ginger, julienned
2 green onions, sliced
Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions :
Place the fish on a heatproof plate. Rub with Shaoxing wine and soy sauce.
Sprinkle garlic, ginger, and green onions over the fish.
Steam the fish over high heat for 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
Drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving .
3. Three-Cup Chicken
Ingredients :
500g chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
3 tablespoons Pagoda Shaoxing Cooking Wine
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch ginger, sliced
Fresh basil leaves
Instructions :
Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, and sauté until fragrant.
Add chicken pieces and cook until browned.
Pour in Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, and sugar. Stir to combine.
Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce is thickened and the chicken is cooked through.
Add fresh basil leaves and stir briefly before serving .
