Tempeh is a traditional Southeast Asian soy product, originated in Indonesia as part of the ethnic Javanese cuisine. It is a staple product in Indonesia, as well as a regular source of protein. Like tofu, tempeh is also a soy-based plant product, but tofu is made through coagulation, while tempeh is a result of soybean fermentation. The Tempehting brand is a Dutch-based production house, which was a co-venture evolved out of Dutch and Indonesian association.
