How to Use HANAMARUKI Shinshu Shiro Miso 350g

This mild and slightly sweet white miso from Japan’s Shinshu region is perfect for soups, marinades, dressings, and glazes. It adds umami depth without overpowering other flavours.

1. Classic Miso Soup

Ingredients:

• 2 tbsp HANAMARUKI Shiro Miso

• 2 cups dashi or vegetable stock

• 50g tofu cubes

• Chopped spring onions, wakame seaweed

Instructions:

1. Warm dashi in a pot (do not boil).

2. Dissolve miso in a small bowl with a little warm stock, then stir back into the pot.

3. Add tofu and wakame. Serve hot, garnished with spring onions.

2. Miso Marinade for Fish or Chicken

Ingredients:

• 2 tbsp Shiro Miso

• 1 tbsp mirin

• 1 tbsp soy sauce

• 1 tsp sugar

Instructions:

1. Mix all ingredients to make a smooth paste.

2. Marinate fish or chicken for 30 minutes.

3. Grill or pan-fry until golden and caramelised.

3. Miso Dressing or Dip

Ingredients:

• 1 tbsp Shiro Miso

• 1 tbsp rice vinegar

• 1 tsp sesame oil

• 1 tsp honey or sugar

Instructions:

1. Whisk all ingredients until smooth.

2. Use as a salad dressing, dip for vegetables, or drizzle for grilled dishes.
