How to Use GOLDEN THAI DRAGON Jasmine Rice

Preparing the Rice

1. Measure the Rice: Measure the desired amount of jasmine rice. Typically, 1 cup of uncooked rice yields about 3 cups of cooked rice.
2. Rinse the Rice: Place the rice in a sieve and rinse under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and ensures the rice is fluffy.
3. Cook the Rice:
   • Stovetop Method: Add the rinsed rice to a saucepan with 1.5 cups of water for every cup of rice. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it stand for 10 minutes with the lid on.
   • Rice Cooker Method: Follow the rice cooker's instructions, using the same water-to-rice ratio.
4. Fluff the Rice: Once cooked, gently fluff the rice with a fork to separate the grains.

Ingredients:

2. Thai Fried Rice

Ingredients:

• 3 cups cooked GOLDEN THAI DRAGON Jasmine Rice
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 onion, chopped
• 1 bell pepper, chopped
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 2 tablespoons soy sauce
• 1 tablespoon fish sauce
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• 1 cup cooked shrimp or chicken
• Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
2. Add garlic and onion, and stir-fry until fragrant.
3. Add bell pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and pour the beaten eggs into the empty side. Scramble the eggs until cooked.
5. Add the cooked jasmine rice, soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Stir to combine.

3. Coconut Jasmine Rice

Ingredients:

• 1 cup coconut milk
• ½ cup water
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• Pinch of salt

Instructions:

1. Rinse the jasmine rice as described above.
2. In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
3. Add the rinsed rice, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and let it stand for 10 minutes with the lid on.
5. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving. This pairs wonderfully with Thai curries .
