Golden Sail Tie Kuan Yin Oolong Tea Leaves (150g) offer a revered, "half-oxidized" tea experience that sits perfectly between green and black teas. Known as the "Iron Buddha," Tie Kuan Yin (Ti Kuan Yin) is celebrated for its complex, floral, and milky profile, offering a rich aroma and a clean, lingering sweet aftertaste.
Water Temperature: Use water just below boiling: 90°C to 95°C (194°F–205°F) is ideal to extract the complex aromas without burning the leaves.
Proportions: Use approximately 1 to 1.5 teaspoons (or 3g–5g) of leaves per 200ml cup. Oolong leaves unfurl significantly during brewing.
Infusion Time: Steep for 1 to 3 minutes. The first brew should be short to bring out the delicate fragrance.
Gongfu Style (Multiple Infusions): Tie Kuan Yin is best enjoyed using the Chinese Gongfu method, which involves many short, rapid infusions (30 seconds for the first few, increasing slightly for subsequent brews). High-quality leaves can yield 5+ delicious cups.
