East End Yellow Gram is a dark brown pea similar in appearance to chickpeas, yet slightly smaller in size. They are used mainly in Indian cuisine in curries or chilies, but can also be served cold in salads after boiling in lightly salted water.

How to use?	Soak the contents overnight if possible. Wash in 2 changes of clean water. Boil yellow grams using enough water for 1 ½ hour. These beans are hard and take a long time to cook. Add salt to taste. Boil them until they are tender enough to eat. For 300g of yellow gram cooked, fry one finely chopped onion in 2 tbs of vegetable oil. Add 1 level teaspoon each of East End coriander, cumin ½ Leaspoon each of turmeric, chili, ginger, and garlic. Add this gram and cook for 15 minutes. Enjoy with East End boiled rice.
