Ingredients
For the Dumpling Dough
- 300g dumpling wheat flour
- 150g water
For the Filling
- 200g minced pork
- 50g chives, finely chopped
- 1 spring onion, finely chopped
Seasonings
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp chicken powder
- ½ tsp white pepper
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cooking oil
Method
1. Make the dough
Add the dumpling wheat flour to a mixing bowl.
Gradually add the water and mix until a dough forms.
Knead until the dough becomes smooth.
2. Prepare the wrappers
Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a ball.
Flatten each ball and roll it out into a thin, round dumpling wrapper.
Keep the prepared wrappers covered to prevent them from drying out.
3. Prepare the filling
Finely chop the chives and spring onion.
Add them to the minced pork along with the sugar, salt, chicken powder, white pepper, sesame oil and cooking oil.
Mix thoroughly until the filling is evenly combined.
4. Fill the dumplings
Place a small spoonful of the pork filling in the centre of each wrapper.
Be careful not to overfill the dumplings.
5. Fold the dumplings
Fold each wrapper in half to create a half-moon shape.
Press and seal the edges firmly. If needed, lightly wet the edges with water before sealing.
6. Boil the dumplings
Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
Carefully add the dumplings and boil for 7–8 minutes, or until the wrappers are cooked and the pork filling is fully cooked.
7. Serve
Remove the dumplings from the water and serve immediately with your favourite dipping sauce.
