1. Preparation (Quick Rinse)

• Separate any rice cake slices that are stuck together.

• Rinse them thoroughly under cold running water.

• Optional: Soak them in cold water for 5 to 10 minutes before cooking if you prefer an extra soft texture.

2. In Korean Rice Cake Soup (Tteokguk)

• Bring your choice of broth (beef, anchovy, or vegetable) to a boil.

• Add the rinsed rice cakes directly into the boiling soup.

• Cook on medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes until the slices soften and float to the top.

3. In Stir-Fries & Spicy Tteokbokki

• Add the slices directly into your simmering sauce or stir-fry pan during the last 3 to 4 minutes of cooking.

• Stir frequently to prevent the rice cakes from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

• Cook until the sauce thickens and the slices are tender and chewy.
