2 teaspoons powdered sugar (or a sweetener of your choice, like agave syrup or maple syrup)
1 teaspoon high-quality matcha powder (plus a pinch more for garnish)
1½ cups unsweetened normal/plant-based milk (oat, almond, or coconut milk)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Coconut Cream Place a can of full-fat coconut milk in the fridge overnight. Carefully scoop out the solidified cream into a mixing bowl, avoiding the liquid at the bottom.
Step 2: Whip It Up Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip the coconut cream on high speed for 3 to 4 minutes until it becomes fluffy and light.
Step 3: Add Matcha and Sweetener Sift in the matcha powder and powdered sugar to avoid clumps. Whip again for another 2 to 3 minutes until smooth and well combined. You should get a light, airy consistency similar to whipped cream.
Step 4: Assemble the Drink Fill two glasses with ice cubes. Pour about ¾ cup of your chosen plant-based milk into each glass.
Step 5: Top and Garnish Gently spoon the whipped matcha mixture over the milk. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of matcha powder on top for an elegant garnish.
Step 6: Serve Serve with a straw or stir gently before sipping to combine the creamy top with the milk below.
